We arrived at the hospital around 9:45 a.m. and got Ian through the check-in process. He weighed right at 27 lbs - such a hoss! We got him dressed in "the gown" which he just looks so cute in ... I really hope we don't have to see him in one again for a while, but he's just too cute for words ... so here are some pictures!
We watched a few minutes of "Elmo" ....
before he decided that he wanted to "call Bonner"!
Once they got his vitals, he was able to go out and enjoy the play area they had!
He found the piano first, of course; anything musical just puts a smile on his face!
And, of course, he had to find the "real" telephone so he could call Bonner!
And, the Cozy Coupe car had him thinking he was right at home :-)
We stopped to pick up lunch on the way home and Ian enjoyed a yummy grilled cheese and lots of milk for lunch. I thought he would lay right down after a dose of Tylenol with Codeine, but I think he wanted to test his "sea legs" out. They gave him a pain block during the procedure so his legs and hips were a little unsteady ... however, that wore off pretty quickly after lunch and he was "back to normal".
He has a clear bandage on that should fall off tomorrow sometime and then we "slather him up" with Neosporin and his diaper with Vaseline to avoid any infection. I'm sure he'll love that :-)
He was feeling so good that we went out to dinner tonight and he caught up on the lack of food :-) I'm sure tomorrow, he will be fully recovered and we will just try to ward off any infection!
As for me and my shoulder, I got the cortisone shots into it tonight and I hope to be "back to normal" pretty soon. I would love to ease back into the gym - no better time than the present, right? Okay, maybe the future would be better for getting back into shape! Ha!
As for the house, we picked out an ice maker tonight and I entertained the idea of a new washer and dryer. They finished framing the screened porch and will probably start knocking out walls tomorrow. They have knocked out the wall between the half-bath and storage room to make a gi-normous pantry that I am absolutely going to love! I will try to take some pictures specifically of the house - in case the ones of the kids aren't entertaining enough :-)
Thanks for the prayers today; it means so much to us and I know it is why Ian recovers so quickly and does so well ... well, prayers and the fact that he is a "Super-Man"!
