! Year Ago Today

Well, it is with much happiness that I come to this blog update - one year ago today, we sat in the MUSC PCICU waiting room praying that God would hold tight over Ian during his open heart surgery.  This is what he looked like just hours after surgery!

And here he was today all clean after playing in the snow :-)

We have truly been blessed with a miracle and we try hard to not take that for granted any day or any time!

Well, speaking of snow, we got about 3 inches last night of the best, powdery snow in the world!  It was beautiful as it fell and as people weren't really out and about in it during the night, we woke up to a complete winter wonderland.  The children were great and slept in until about 11 a.m. so I cooked them pancakes and bacon for brunch and then we all suited up and went outside to enjoy the fun!

The snow was beautiful, but the sun was really bright!  I've been trying to post videos all day, but for some reason, I can get them uploaded but not to replay...maybe too many people posting snow videos today :-)  I'll keep trying though!
Our snow adventure was funny as all Ian wanted to do was lay underneath the downspout where all the water was dripping!  So funny!  Looks like from this picture that I have two blue-collar workers in my future; what do y'all think?

Ian was also worried about the fish in the pond and their "wah-wah" so he had to check on them several times while we were out there!

I ordered the kids' Valentine's Day presents and somehow the box got pushed up to one of the chairs in their play area.  Take a close look at these pictures - monkey see, monkey do!  Notice that Bonner has climbed on the box to get up in the chair; Ian notices this and thinks that's a great idea - however, Bonner isn't the loving sister that wants to share her seat so she does an immediate dismount off the chair and voila, they've switched places :-)

I just think that is so funny!

Our very sweet Aunt Joyce sent us a Valentine's Day surprise in the mail and since we were stuck inside all afternoon, I thought it would be a fun treat for the kids!  Well, they were ssssoooo excited because when they opened up the box, there were 2 bags in there - one filled with a big Minnie Mouse stuffed animal and another filled with a big Mickey Mouse stuffed animal.  Immediately, the kids started loving on them and showing them their toys and how to play the piano and ... well, basically, just welcoming them to family!

Ian is trying to show Mickey how to play his absolute favorite piano.

And here is Bonner doing the same with Minnie Mouse!

Here is Bonner trying to read Minnie the book that Aunt Joyce also sent.

And, of course, we had to give each stuffed animal 1000+ hugs!

I love Minnie a bushel and a peck!
And, today was a very big day for another reason, too - I realized today that Bonner has enough hair to actually support a hair bow!

I won't say that the bow lasted too long in her hair but she could "hold it up"!
Yesterday, the children went to the doctor for their 18-month check-up and I think it went well.  I say, "I think" because I didn't go ... yes, you read that right, I didn't go to the appointment.  Stewart and I went out for our Valentine's Day dinner Thursday and enjoyed a delicious meal; however, about 3 a.m. I started getting very sick and throwing up.  It was a MISERABLE night and so all day yesterday I laid in the bed.  So, instead of me and Stewart going to the appointment, daddy and Grandbuddy took them!  Oh, I wish I could have been a fly on the wall :-)  The only real details I got back were that Ian weighed 26 lbs and Bonner was finally over 20!  They both had grown a little over an inch in the past 3 months and the doctor was happy with their progress.

Here's a picture from Super Bowl Sunday - I couldn't get it uploaded because I couldn't find my cable ... I just think it's the cutest picture of the 2 of them.  Needless to say, they aren't too much help when it comes to laundry!

I'll get the videos posted ASAP!  Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!
