I know it's been a few days since I last posted, but it's been pretty busy around here! The kids were out of school last Monday for the weather and then Stewart's mother came into town for a good visit last Tuesday through Thursday. I took the kids to their first day of gymnastics (the Little Gym) last Thursday afternoon and they LOVED it. I'll post a video of them practicing "rolling" very soon. I'll try to snap some still photos this week, too!
Friday night, we went out some good friends to a local Japanese restaurant (where they cook the food on the hibachi grill in front of you) and this was very exciting for the children. They weren't too sure about the fire but loved the volcano :-) And, Bonner thoroughly enjoyed using the chopsticks to eat each morsel of rice! We would still be sitting there waiting for her to finish if I hadn't just taken the chopsticks away from her. Ian devoured all the vegetables they would throw his way and loved the shrimp. He even tasted steak and chicken and didn't turn either one of those away.
On Saturday, Ian and Bonner spent the day with Gam-Gam and Grandbuddy while Stewart and I ran down to Columbia for a Congenital Heart Defect Conference - very good information was made available and all the speakers were great. We were reminded that although a CHD is repaired, you are never "out of the woods" and follow-up is VERY important over your lifetime!
We came back to Greenville and celebrated Aunt Taylor's birthday at Cracker Barrel - oh, yes, she is a big spender when it comes to birthdays :-)
Sunday was the Super Bowl so we went over to some friends house to pig out while watching the pigskin. Ian was very disappointed to find out that this was the last football for a while :-(
So, it's been busy. I have some videos to post and some pictures - the videos will probably come before the pictures because I can't find my digital camera cord.... I'll work on it ASAP!
Also, I will post "one year later" thoughts since this coming Saturday marks the one-year anniversary since Ian's open heart surgery and repair! Stay tuned!
