Beach Trip

I have updated the blog quite a bit tonight ... finally, I've had a chance to get all my cameras and computer in one place.  When I am at home recently, I am just trying to clean up and organize and get things rearranged, etc.  So blogging just doesn't get the priority like it used to ... but I have a renewed outlook on life!  I am slowly but surely coming out of the "out of body" experience I feel like I have been living in for the past year and I am super excited about it!  So last weekend, I didn't have the children and these were the 2 exciting things that I did/happened :-)

I got these cords from this condition....

to this one!
It might not seem like alot but there have been Saturdays in the past year when simply getting out of bed was an accomplishment - to actually get something done felt great :-)

And then on Sunday, I came in from running some errands to quickly change clothes and head back out to the gym.  When I came bouncing out of the house ready to get my sweat on, I came upon this little fellow ... almost stepped right on him :-)
All I can say is THANK GOODNESS for Boy Scout neighbors!  They scooped him right up!  He was taller than the boy in this picture, Jack, our sweet neighbor :-)  Crazy!

One day this week, the children and I ran to the post office which is in the Ace Hardware.  We needed some flowers for our front porch pots so the children and I decided to look around.  I thought it was hysterical when I turned my head around and found Woody and Abby in the birdbath.  When I asked the children what "their friends" were doing, they replied, "Watching TV!"  Oh yes, exactly what I thought!

On Wednesday of this week, the children and I headed to our favorite place in the world, the beach!  It's our week for the condo so I thought we could come down and enjoy a few days.  We got here about 5 p.m. and Ian and Bonner wanted to get out to the beach as fast we could.  They were thrilled to be back in their favorite sandbox :-)

Today, we walked out to the beach about 12:15 p.m. in our raincoats carrying our umbrellas.  We had waited all morning to see if the rain would "blow over" ... eventually, I just lost the battle and could hold them back from the sandbox no longer.  I wish I had gotten a picture of them in their raincoats carrying their umbrellas (rumor has it that I will have the same chance tomorrow so I'll try to have the camera ready)!  Bonner was in her bathing suit with her gown over it ...

Ian just insisted on his pajamas :-)

So when the sun finally came out about 2 p.m., Bonner was ready and Ian just settled for his undies :-)  Unfortunately, there was no one else on the beach for me to ask to watch them while I ran up to get his bathing suit ... but he was fine with it :-)  And I must say that they had an absolute blast playing in the tidal pools and "sitting the waves"!

Silly time at dinner tonight!

After dinner, I didn't even notice that the music had changed (for a split second) from the speaker music to a live 2-person "band" so as we were leaving, Ian asked me, "Mommy, I want to hear the band and dance.  Can we stay?"  When I finally confirmed with our waitress that there was, in fact, a band, I just laughed.  We stayed for 2 songs and he danced non-stop!  So funny!  That child LOVES music more than any child I have ever seen!

Bonner-Lingo
- Bonner: "Mom, you always don't wear pretty shirts."  Me: "I know, Bonner.  Sometimes I just have on a t-shirt.  I like this green one I have on today."  Bonner: "Are you getting ready for another St. Patrick's Day?"
- After saying her prayers one night, I reminded Bonner to stay in her bed for the night so she could get a sticker on her chart.  She replied, "God will help me!"
- Bonner: "Mommy, you forgot to get me some make-up!" Me: "Oh, I did?"  Bonner: "Yes, but sometimes I just sneak into your bathroom, use yours a little, and put it back."
- "Mommy, I want to lemonade the flowers."  (It took me a minute to realize that she was drinking lemonade and wanted to WATER the flowers)
- Me: "If there are 4 people singing a song, it's called a quartet."  Bonner: "And if there are 5 people singing a song, it's called a five-tet."
- After getting some ocean water on her lips today, she said, "Mommy, it tastes like sugar!"
- "Mom, can you hold this for me?  I don't have enough hands.  I need more like an octopus!"
- "Emma and Libby are big.  But when we get 5, we'll be bigger and then we'll be 8 and even bigger."  Ian simply said, "Or we could just stay this size!" (Man, that little guy is smart!)
- "We could build a sand castle and call it Ian, Bonner, Mommy, and Abby's castle!"

Ian-isms
- (Back to the make-up issue)  Ian brought me my makeup one day and said, "Mommy, Bonner was using your make-up."  She came walking in the bathroom, stomped her foot, crossed her arms, and said, "Ian, I told you not to tell mommy!"  (Oh my, I have my hands full!)
- I told them one day that we could go to Moe's for lunch and Ian said, "Let's go to Moe's because we learned about Baby Moe's at school!"
- "Mom, I want to drive a truck so I can build stuff!"
