Easter Day

The children came home on Thursday before Easter which was terrific!  We had a fantastic weekend!  We go to church on Saturday night - it's easier on the children and on me :-) and it's much less crowded in the nursery... that wouldn't be a big deal but we take 2 spots in the same class so if you show up and there's only 1 spot left, it can get a little tough!  Of course, Easter weekend was no different as we knew Sunday would be packed so we enjoyed a wonderful Easter service on Saturday night!  In fact, it was the first time the children told me, "Mom, this was the best church ever!"  It made my heart smile!

So Sunday morning, it was back to our usual - dressing up, of course!  I started out my Easter morning with Cinderella and Woody!  This picture, although the quality is shotty, is truly priceless!  They look so much alike to me :-)

I didn't do anything from the Easter bunny (I know what you are thinking but that's just how I am...)!  But we did enjoy a wonderful Easter brunch with the family - including my brother, his wife, and their new baby :-)  A good friend, Amy, and her son joined us, too, as her husband had to work and her daddy was sick :-(  It was a yummy lunch!

HAPPY EASTER!

Of course, Abby had to come to Easter Brunch! :-)
I had picked out this pretty dress for Bonner to wear and she told me, "Mommy, it doesn't have a bunny on it" so she opted for the $10 Old Navy special!  Ha!  But with the pigtails, she was as cute as ever!

We came home after brunch and I gave them their Easter presents from me - they are called Plasma cars and they are hysterical!  All you have to do is sit on them and steer them and they go!  They have to wear helmets with them (I'm trying to get them into the habit) ... they must have taken them to the top of the driveway 50 times on Easter Sunday to "ride them down the hill"!

I cannot believe I do not have 1 picture from our Easter egg hunt :-(  Our neighbors, the Goforths, came over and joined in the fun.  Some eggs were filled with a couple of jelly beans and some were left empty - I tried to remind the children that the "empty ones" represented the tomb that couldn't hold Jesus ... well, once they realized that some had a "surprise", they would pick up the egg, shake it, and if it was empty, they would just throw it back down!  Ha!  And you think you are making a lasting impression - I guess I was until I was stacked against jelly beans!  No pictures of "the hunt" but here are a couple of videos!

Bonner helped me die some Easter eggs, too :-)
Pinterest had a great idea to put the eggs down in a whisk so that a child could just dunk them up and down!  That really worked out perfectly - we used a couple of whisks and a couple of sets of tongs!  Both were MUCH better than pesky little spoons!

The finished batch!  Aren't they beautiful :-)  She was so proud!

And here is a picture of Gigi and Grandbuddy with their 3 precious grandchildren!
I could not tear Ian and Bonner away from the little cars!
