2-Year Check-Up

I can remember about 22 months ago when I would rush the kids home from the doctor so I could update the CaringBridge site with Ian's weight gain ... I struggled to get him beefed up and there were so many worried about it (including me).  My, how 2 years can make a difference.  In fact, I totally forgot to even post last night after their 2-year check-up - what a bad mother I have become :-)

We did take the children to the doctor's office yesterday (for the first time since February) for their 2-year check-up and everyone was amazed at how great he continues to do!  It seems that both kiddos are on the right track for physical, mental, and emotional development and that is a true blessing!  They took Ian's O2 saturation and he was at 98% which is fantastic and gave me some sense of relief!

And, yes, they weighed them :-)  Ian weighed almost 30 lbs and, Bonner, 25 lbs.  30 pounds puts Ian in the 69th percentile in weight which is terrific since I can remember when we weren't even on the charts!  Now I know this will be hard for you to believe, but they are short :-)  Ian is only 34 inches tall (32nd percentile) and Bonner, 32.5 inches tall (12.5 percentile) - but, hey, they are both on the charts!

They each got their finger pricked and then 4 vaccination shots ... ouch!  Both did pretty good and were rewarded with suckers!  As you can tell, Ian's (aka "My Little Smurf") was given a blue sucker!

Yum, yum, good!

Look, mom, here's my band-aid :-)

Bonner was a little bit more reserved after the trip - but she wanted everyone to see her band-aid, too!

All and all, it was a great appointment and we aren't slated to go back until February for their 30-month check-up (no shots)!  Ian has a cardiologist appointment October 7 so I am anxious to see what Dr. Rauniker has to say :-)

This week at school was good; they are each battling a cold, but that's to be expected as they build their immunities back up in the classroom :-)  We are looking forward to a low-key weekend as I am in charge of a UGA party next Wednesday night ... we are expecting about 200+ adults and 75+ children!  Yikes!  I'm tired just thinking about all I have to get done for it!  Ha!  But it just means that football is right around the corner!  Have a great weekend!

Love,
Jennifer
