I took the Tahoe by the gas station vacuum cleaner the other day - well, as messy as Ian is you would have thought this was his side ... oh no, it was Bonner's side with all of her Moon Dough that she insists on taking with her everywhere all over the floor. Not all little boys are messy all the time!
Here are some videos for you to enjoy. Sorry the quality isn't all that great on full screen, but my phone records at all different speeds so you never know what you are going to get :-) They look great on the iPhone!
Blowing Bubbles
The kids were so excited yesterday afternoon when they both figured out how to consistently blow bubbles! I am so blessed that they play together as well as they do!
Ian Off the Board "Naked"
The children took a couple of swim lessons with the neighborhood swim coach last week. It helped a little, but Ian just thought it was great that he could jump off the diving board without a floatie on! As I have said time and again, the child has no fear!
Ian on the Phone
I know this video is hard to really follow, but I just think it's so funny watch him. He walked over, got the portable phone, and started talking to his friend. And then his imagination just keeps going and going! I love it that he gives so much great thought!
Friday was the last day of summer camp for the children and the teachers were so sweet to put on a little party for them for their last day! I offered to help with the party and had a great time with the children. Here are some pictures from the fun day we had!
While all the other kids were in the reading area enjoying themselves...
Ian and Bonner were on the other side of the room reading their own book!
Bonner & her 2 besties making "silly" faces (her idea, of course)!
Little picassos!
On a personal note, I wanted to let everyone know that, unfortunately, Stewart and I have separated and are moving towards a divorce. It's a very sad situation, but I would just ask that everyone be supportive of the children during this difficult time! They certainly did nothing to deserve this and I am just trying to stay as positive for them as possible. Our circle of friends and acquaintances are great prayer warriors and we call on you for that again - right now, more than ever, I would just ask that you pray for myself, the children, and Stewart...I have faith that can move a mountain as I have seen God carry me through a very difficult time - about 3 years ago, in fact! He will pick me and the children up again and we will give Him all the glory each and every day!
Enough about that, now on to some funny things the children have recently said to leave you smiling!
Ian-isms:
- On our way to "camp" one day this week, there was a bird flying parallel to our car outside of Ian's window. The bird took a sharp left and started to fly over the football stadium to which Ian said, "Mommy, that birdie is going to watch the football game!"
- "What Bonner is doing is too hard for me, mommy, because I'm a big boy now!"
- "Georgia Tigers" - yes, he is somewhat confused. When I asked him about it, he said, "Mommy, sometimes I just like to say Georgia Tigers!"
- He asked me to give him a book for him to read in his bed the other night. I asked him which book he wanted and he said, "I want a God book, mommy!"
- "Bonner, you need to wear your shoes. It's too hot to stand on the concreek!"
- We spent the better part of today with Ian completely naked (with the exception of his feet wearing his crocs) in hopes that tee-teeing out in the yard might spawn some interest in actually tee-teeing on the potty. The first time tee-tee came out, he excitedly yelled, "Mommy, I tee-teed in the grass!" Of course, Bonner and I were watching and she quickly replied, "You must be a dog!"
- Another tee-teeing comment that made me smile: "Mommy, I tried to tee-tee in the grass, but no juice came out of me!"
Bonner-lingo:
- "You are driving too fast, mommy. You are messing up my curls!" Now, I could understand if she was in the convertible with the top down and the wind blowing through her beautiful hair, but she was tucked safely into her car seat in the back of the Tahoe with all the windows up and the A/C barely blowing in the back :-)
- "My fairy godmother lives in South Carolina, mommy!" Ian replied, "My friends do not live in South Carolina!"
And one more prayer request before I finish up - I have moved Ian's annual cardiology appointment up from October to August (actually, it's this coming Thursday) not because of any issues, but I just wanted to get his check-up out of the way before school started and new activities like karate are discussed. He is doing fantastic, but it's always hard to go into these appointments knowing that issues can mask themselves and only appear during an echo or EKG. He will have both I am sure this week so I would just ask that you pray for us as we prepare for the appointment (I am going to talk to him alot about it this week so he's prepared) and that the results would be exactly what we are expecting ... "He looks great; see you in a year!"
