Busy Weekend & Prayer Request

Well, it's been a busy few days!  The children had "homework" last week ... their teacher asked us to decorate 2 big turkey feathers out of poster board to hang on her bulletin board.  I was hesitant with the arts & craft thing, but I jumped right in.  I took the kids to Hobby Lobby to pick out some pom-poms and some stickers.  They used their hand print to paint the background and then applied stickers.  I totally forgot to take a picture of the finished product, but here they are in action :-)

It's been since July since the children had their pictures formally taken so last Thursday, we headed to the photographer for some fall pictures.  They did pretty good and here are a few pictures from the session!

And, as many of you already know, Stewart's mom, Marti, was recently diagnosed with a Meningioma which is a tumor on her brain.  Immediate prayers were answered quickly as it was found to be benign; however, Marti's brother passed away about 15 years ago from a brain tumor and she doesn't want to take any chances.  So, she is scheduled for surgery this Tuesday, November 9, to remove the tumor.  In lieu of that, we took the kids down to Perry this weekend for a fun time with "Nanny and Pop"!

Here they are "helping" shell peas!  They wanted to treat them more like green beans and just break them once and then throw them in the bucket!

And, of course, you can't go to Perry without playing Spades.  Ian insisted on "playing kahhds" :-)

I drove back to Greenville tonight with the children by myself.  Stewart will stay in Perry through his mom's surgery and her initial recovery.  As so many of you have been our prayer warriors for the past 2.5 years, I call you yet again to lift our family up to Him.  Please pray that Marti will have a successful surgery on Tuesday, that the tumor can be removed completely, that her stay in the hospital will be minimal, and that her recovery will be uneventful.  She is a very strong woman and her faith is unwaivering.  We know in our toughest times that God comforts us the most and tells us to not fear the unknown.  She knows this and we all know that He is the great physician!  Your prayers mean so much to us and I will keep you updated throughout the week on her progress!

And, lastly, after a long trip home and a surprise visit from Gigi when we arrived (she had a feeling that I might need another set of hands when we got home - mother's intuition, of course), Bonner was finally tired!  She has a new thing where she gets between her bumper (yes, I am a bad mother and still have their bumpers in their beds - it only makes sense now that they flap all over the place throughout the night to protect them - ha!) ... anyway, I digress.  She gets between her bumper and her crib to sleep.  As you can see from the picture below, she doesn't quite fit between the 2, but she insists!

Again, thank you for your prayers!  I hope that each of you have a wonderful week!
In Him,
Jennifer
