The surgery is over ... it was a really long day for the family, but Marti is out of surgery and, hopefully, getting some much-needed rest tonight (that goes for everyone in the family)! The day didn't go quite as good as we had hoped, but the surgeon was able to get a good portion of the tumor removed; however, there was a really long tail on it that he was not able to remove. In addition, the pathology report was conflicting with what the surgeon thought (and still thinks) so we are in limbo until the outside lab's report comes back in a week or so. We will continue to pray that the report comes back sooner than expected, with results better than expected, and that a plan for treating the tail can be started soon!
We thank each of you for your prayers! So many were lifting our family up today and we reminded throughout the day, even during the darkest moments, that God is good all the time! I pray that He will watch over Marti as she recovers and be with the family tomorrow as they talk to her about the surgery results! I'm sure it will be hard for her to hear that they didn't get it all; but, she's a strong lady and is ready for the journey - whatever path God's plan reveals!
I'm also working on some videos of the children :-) Super funny as these past several days they have really started playing well with one another, interacting with everything they do, and just really coming into their personalities! I, of course, squeezed them a little tighter tonight and hope that you will do the same to yours - and your mamas and daddies - tonight!
