Spring Break and Easter

The kids were on Spring Break last week (who knew that Mothers Morning Out would have Spring Break) ... so Stewart's mom and our favorite niece, Jenni, came up to spend some QT with the kiddos.  And they had a great time!  We went for Easter pictures on Tuesday of last week and before we left, they wanted to play outside.  As you can see, they were all dressed up in their "doctor's best" scrubs :-)

Bonner has "stopped to smell the roses" in this picture.

Ian hasn't decided whether he wants to be a doctor or a farmer quite yet...
But I think he's probably leaning towards being an MD :-)

They enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt each day with "Nanny" and Jenni :-)
This time Bonner wasn't too excited about sharing her eggs!

On Friday, daddy was off work so we decided to go to the zoo.  However, everyone else in Greenville decided to do the same.  So we headed back to the park to show daddy the swings we love!

On Saturday, our sweet neighbor, Mrs. Rhonda and her daughter, Lee Anne, came over for a visit.  They brought cute Easter presents ... you guessed it ... HATS!!

The kids LOVED the hats ... we went to church on Saturday night for Easter and they wanted to wear them in the car and into church :-)  So cute!  The children did great at church this weekend!  We had a great sermon about the resurrection and I fell in love with the following lyrics from one of the songs we sang!
Glorious Day by Casting Crowns
Living He loved me
Dying He saved me
Buried He carried my sins far away
Rising He justified
Freely forever
One day He's coming
Oh, Glorious Day
Oh, Glorious Day
As most of you know, I am a very black and white person and, to me, there is no question whether Jesus was born to a virgin, walked this earth, died a horrible death, and rose again ... it's very simple to me and I am so thankful that I don't spend my days and nights worrying about whether these things happened or not.  I guess that's why I loved these lyrics because they are pretty black and white!

However, this week's sermon brought to light that many people struggle with the "grey" area that might surround Jesus ... I pray that if you are one of those people that you would let me know ... or someone around you that believes!  We studied Matthew Ch 28 on Saturday and as it states in the last verses, (28:19) "Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (28:20) teaching them to observe all things which I commanded you.  Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."  - Pretty black and white as to what my responsibilities are to you, my friends and family!

On Sunday, I cooked lunch for my parents and Aunt Tay-Tay and Uncle Justin.  Taylor and Justin brought the kids cute little baskets filled with Elmo books, sunglasses, and ... you guessed it ... HATS!
Bonner loved everything about her Easter surprise - she's carrying the basket, holding one of the books, wearing the silly hat, and trying to keep the sunglasses on her nose :-)

After lunch, we all headed outside to enjoy the absolutely beautiful weather!  The kids had fun "sitting" in their chairs on the grass.  Not sure what Ian is doing here, but Bonner is practicing "laughing" :-)

I am not a big fan of the Easter Bunny so he didn't come for a visit to our house ... and the kids knew no different :-)  But I did get them a sprinkler and since it was almost 90 degrees outside, I thought it would be fun for them to play with it.  Stewart thought it would be a good idea to see if they thought the water was too cold before we hooked up the sprinkler ... well, the water was freezing but they wanted to be "wet", "wet", "wet".  I couldn't get their bathing suits on fast enough!  Get ready - there are LOTS of pictures because they were just so darn cute :-)
This is one of my favorites :-)

And finally, I got their bathing suits on them ... not that they weren't already soaking wet and having so much fun!

Not sure she'll be able to wear this bathing suit all summer :-)  Nice "jelly-belly"!

This child absolutely LOVES water ... I have no idea how I will get him out of the pool this summer!

Well, I must say that we have enjoyed our week off, but I am ready for us to get back to a schedule!  Ian and Bonner are back to school tomorrow, Tuesday; and, I am back to work!  Ian has his follow-up appointment with the urologist this Friday; other than that, it's work and school and some afternoon play each day this week :-)
